BluePearl Pet Hospital would like to invite an overnight Veterinarian Hospitalist to provide medical oversight to a variety of hospitalized veterinary patients. Join our large referral team setting in Pittsburgh, PA (North Hills) where we have 7 criticalists combined in both of our Pittsburgh locations and a house officer program consisting of rotating interns, emergency and critical care interns and residents, and surgical interns and residents
As a Veterinarian Hospitalist you will:
- Diagnose and treat animals with illnesses and injuries.
- Evaluates patient status, make timely treatment and diagnostic plans/orders, administer medications, interpret diagnostic test results, communicate effectively with the pet owner/client and primary care veterinarian, and collaborate on patient care with other veterinarians within the practice.
- Dress animal wounds and treats animals with fractures.
- Write prescriptions for sick animals.
- Complete appropriate documentation and request referrals from other specialists as needed.
- Serve as a hospital leader in setting a pleasant, engaging, and professional work environment.

What you need to excel at BluePearl:
- DVM/VMD degree required.
- Completion of a rotating internship or residency in emergency and critical care preferred but not required.
- Current license to practice veterinary medicine in this state.
- Strong diagnostic and clinical skills, with the ability to make rapid and accurate assessments in emergency situations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate bedside manner.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
