Missoula is a growing and vibrant Western Montana college town with all modern conveniences and entertainment at your fingertips. The city is nestled in a mountainous valley providing a multitude of recreational benefits. Just two and a half hours to the north is Glacier National Park. Snowbowl ski area is just a 20 minute drive from downtown. The Clarkfork, Bitterroot and Blackfoot rivers provide world class fishing and whitewater rafting. Missoula, often considered the cultural hub of Montana, is the location of the state's first university, and an eclectic mix of loggers, hippies, college students, sports fans, and retirees. Missoula is home to about 70,000 people and it boasts two excellent human hospitals as well as an exceptional school system. There is so much to do and the best part is that your work schedule will allow you to enjoy all that the area has to offer. Working 13 shifts/month is considered full time employment. Rotating schedule with shifts grouped 2 or 3 or 4 in a row you will always have 3-4 days off each week and at least 7 days off in a row once every month. A part time position would also be considered for the right applicant. Excellent compensation, flexibility in schedule and ample time off is what sets this opportunity apart from all the rest in the area. Compensation is generous – full time veterinarians earn around 100K/year. Guaranteed base or percentage of production whichever is greater calculated monthly with no negative accrual. Benefits include annual CE allowance, paid association dues, liability insurance, veterinary and DEA license, personnel pet discount and simple IRA. A veterinarian serving as medical director is also desired and would include additional compensation. As we make the transition to a larger facility, increase specialties and hours the Medical Director will be a vital player in this time of growth. Minimum 1 year veterinary experience preferred but not required. Confidence in surgery for common emergency conditions is necessary. Must have a positive attitude, excellent communication skills and be a team player. |
